Perhaps another flagship so soon would appear foolish, however, it may be an expedient way of recovering some of the development cost that went into the stalled MZ-D. Sell the converted (i.e. us) a new 'flagship' SLR essentially based on a digital SLR design that didn't fly, while all the while having other development plans. It all sounds very Machiavellian, however, corporations report to shareholders who like to see profits. Otherwise we loyal Pentaxians would be asked what we wanted, and would be given it. The mind boggles doesn't it? We could have an updated LX! One thing that I have pondered over the last few years of Pentax production is where was the LXX or the LXXX when Pentax hit 70 and 80 years old respectively. I hope we don't have to wait until 2020 for something as damned useful and nice as a contemporary LX would be.

Pal, you seem to know a lot. And your idea scares me :) I would think that Pentax would have to come up with a new top of the line camera to go with these lenses that we speculate about. Isn't that a bit out of character? Wasn't the PZ-1p the flagship since 1995? Would they put a better (I know, not necessarily better, LX and all :)) camera out than the MZ-S so soon? I can't speak on the technical parts, as I really don't understand them, and haven't been using Pentax for as long as most here have. But it seems to me that Pentax would piss off their hard-earned customers by coming out with another camera and leaving those with MZ-S cameras in a lurge. Just my 2 cents :) Brad Dobo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pål Jensen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 4:39 PM Subject: Re: Orgin Myths -- The Finale? :) > That's why I beleive that the new KAFIII mount will be dedicated to a new camera series. I don't think any MZ-bodies will take new USM and IS lenses. The MZ-S is top-of-the-line MZ-series body. > > > Pål >
