Hi Bill,

The ISO contacts don't often rust or corrode as all contact surfaces are gold 
plated and it would take quite a lot of work for them to wear to the base metal 
to allow corrosion to start. However dust can accumulate on the surface of the 
board and become wedged under the contact fingers creating intermittent 
contact. Problems may start when setting the dial to ISO not normally used 
where dust has settled. Working the dial can displace debris causing problems.
