The Foveon chip does show some promise to be a viable, less expensive, technology than either CCD or CMOS. Sigma has the Foveon production output pretty well tied up. It's not unheard of for camera makers to have bodies made by other companies, when they want to get into an aspect of a technology that they believe they need to be in, while they work on their own line of equipment, or negotiate for a better position in the technology.
I, believe it's not a bad thing to do. A new technology competing with CCD and CMOS could be of benefit to us all. Len --- > BTW You didn't say if you thought that it was a good or bad > direction for them > to take? > > Cheers, > > Rob Studdert
