I like shallow DOF. Especially in my macros. It helps to isolate my subject and give a quasi-3rd dimension to my pictures. Except most of my landscapes where I tend to make everything look sharp. I wouldn't buy a camera without a DOF preview. It can be a bit challenging to get exactly the right DOF (one reason why I use SLRs over rangefinders)... Cheers, - Dave http://www.digistar.com/~dmann/
