 Randy,

 Thanks for the quick response.

I don't have the budget to go Opteron class. I think mine is Athlon
64, not really familiar with AMD's product differentiation.

Sun is partnering w. AMD and uses Opteron in their boxes. Don't know
how well Solaris 10 will work, but I already have it downloaded and
 burned to DVD.

I also have a SUSE eval dvd of 9.2. Sounds like that one is worth a
 closer look.

 thanks,

Rodney

Have one Athalon 64 running Mandrake 10.0 and one on 10.1 - no complaints at all.

Let us know how the Eval DVD goes please. I have the eval DVD I got at
Brainshare and every install so far has failed the SAX2 package. It's
not too horrible though as long as your prepared to manually tweak
XF86Config. 9.2 is a decent distro, I have to admit that I was a little
apprehensive about the whole Novell/SuSE thing but I like what I see out
of Novell so far.

Steve,

I know what you mean.

After Novell took over, it was not obvious to me which web site to use; but somehow I found the downloads for both the eval dvd and a live cd of SUSE 9.2

If anyone wants a copy, let me know.

Rodney
