In previous threads on the sub-list of those who had expressed interest in participating with our OSCON booth, there was some discussion about burning a custom Knoppix CD.

We did this two years ago, and it was considered a major success. So, should we do it again this year? Been there, done that; move forward and burn a DVD instead?

Do we have enough folks willing to participate? What is the magnitude of this project?

My best guess is that we burned 700+ CDs two years ago. OSCON has scaled up from the Marriot Hotel to the Oregon Convention Center; the estimated number of <required> CDs [or DVDs ] should be 2 to 3 times larger.

A memo from O'Reilly stated that booth participants who want to distribute a "bag insert" should have 2000 of them. Is 2000 a reasonable estimate for number of CDs [ or DVDs ] we should burn?

If we are keeping this project alive, how many of us are willing to burn CDs [ or DVDs]? Help with labeling effort?

Rodney
