I don't know about any of that, although I'm sure it could be researched. When we had these things in Athens, we steered clear of conference-room-style venues for several reasons: - It usually costs money, and LUGs typically have trouble coming up with this. - It usually incurs a greater burden on the organizer(s) than would otherwise be incurred by saying "Uh, just show up at my house". - The atmosphere can be patently sterile.
