If you picked a slow night and talked with the owner, Chuck, before
hand, I bet he'd let you commandeer the half of the place with power
outlets like we do every Sunday night. I could add a MAC to our wireless
there. A switch, some power strips, a laptop with a couple wifi cards
and a NIC to NAT for everyone, and you've got a hack night... Complete
with pizza, salads, pasta, and even beer...
Hmm... On second thought, this could be dangerous.
Grishnav,
It was great for the ham stuff you were talking about but I think the
environment was more akin to how our normal meetings are then a real
'hackfest' like Jonathan was mentioning.
The PLANET ARGON office would work pretty. We have wifi/wired internet
and a decent amount of open space for systems/monitors, people, etc.
I would be up to helping host and admin such an event if there was an
interest, but it's somewhat day/time dependant and I don't think I could
handle more then a long afternoon/evening full of hacking on stuff.
So.. Brainstorm more and we'll see what comes of it?
