I have an Xserver with a few Xclients located around the office/house.
If I end up rebooting the Xserver (I just added some RAM), when it came
back up, it wouldn't start X up on the server..infact, I couldn't do
anything with the server, it seemed locked up. I tried this a few times
and got the same results. I thought it might be the new ram, nope, same
result. So, I noticed that I still had the X clients attempting to
connect, so I went and shutdown xnest and such on the clients, rebooted
the server and it came up just fine.

Is this normal behavior should the Xserver go down and the clients are
still trying to connect to the server?

Thanks,

Robby
