Does 99SE have the ability to import an Excel-Sheet with all those information and updating its parts???
Yes. The general procedure is to Export to Spread. Leave the source document open while you do the next steps. Copy and Paste relevant fields to Excel. I would assign a record number field to each record so that I can restore the spreadsheet to its original sort order. (I use a formula to do this, then Copy and Paste Special the formula in Excel to reduce it to values, I think there may be a more direct way.)
Then I can sort the spreadsheet from Protel and the spreadsheet to be imported so that they are in the same order. I check to make sure there are no extra or missing records (and create or delete records if necessary -- in the data to be imported). Then I resort the data to restore the original sequence and Copy and Paste it back into the Protel spreadsheet. Then Update from Spread.
There are bugs remaining in the 99SE Spreadsheet that will cause a crash if you don't match everything properly. Especially don't close the source document or the spreadsheet while you are working, or else the linkages will be lost.
But it works and is actually pretty easy, once you know how to do it.
Mr. Wilson, I think, has provided a server to handle the task, which I'd expect would be easier. Still, I think it is valuable to know how to use the Protel spreadsheet for export and import.
