For me, the multichannel feature alone is worth the upgrade. I don't think even Altium has really realized the potential of the feature*. It is not really about multichannel, but design reuse. I design analog stuff, and I have developed a collection of buffers, filters, volume controllers and so on. Creating a new design is very productive if there is any repetition. It is very cool to route one transistor switch (or whatever) and then copy the routing and relatively parts placement thirty times over.
*:If they would, you could draw a library of schematic symbols representing schematic sheets. Altium, please consider this! :-)
There are other improvements (for me, the polygon handling improvements are important), and lot of changes. There is a learning curve, but I'd say the upgrade is worth of the trouble. The controversial change is how global edits are done. The new way is more powerful, but can be slower. I'm ok with it, but it takes a while to get used to.
