Hi all,

99SE SP6 user.

I am attempting to set up a simulation of a crude, single-balanced modulator circuit using Protel. I have almost no experience (5 years ago) with standard SPICE modeling tools so have found myself a little lost.

So far have connected the R's, L's & C's OK by simple strategy of using the Sim.ddb library. Also I think I can get my head around signal stimulators although unsure how to reliably describe units after value - if default time scaling is picoseconds (ps) or seconds (s) for example.

Now I have a couple of BC847B's in circuit. I found a reference to this part in the Spice.ddb library but I am mystified because apart from an ugly NPN bipolar graphic there is nothing else. The descriptor fields are all empty - including "Read-only field 1" which I understand is supposed to contain the model reference filename.

I think I am getting something a little wrong here and Protel help is not talking to me on this subject in a way I can understand - yet.

Can anyone set me straight on how to get the SPICE connectivity anchored into the schematic for BC847B?

Regards to all,
Jim Parr
