Mira,
While I cannot state that 'your' perception about Bulgarians perceived
as thieves is wrong, I can only speak for my feelings and experiences in saying
that perception doesn't exist in our area where I have worked with a number of
your expatriate engineers/techs.
On the female Engineer issue, yes your comments are largely correct as
a general stereotype but again I have worked with and where female EEs that
were treated absolutely fairly and equally. It is changing, hopefully you will
live to see it. From some of my judgement/prejudices, your experiences with
female treatment in the work place may be worse in your own country. But then I
have the pleasure of living in one of the most liberal, easy-going, broad
acceptance, racially integrated, areas of the world. The "Best coast of
Canada", better know as British Columbia. Even between eastern and western
Canada, there is a marked difference in racial/gender integration/segregation
and acceptance.

Sincerely,

Bulgaria.

It also depends on the reputation of the country you
come from.
It's not a secret that due to some gypsy actions
abroad every person from my country has a reputation
of a thief. So, if you work in a team with American,
German and Bulgarian engineers and something is
missing, who do you think will be blamed by default?
