Bill,
Understand your concerns. The answer may be a "letter of credit". See
your financial institute and ask them about doing a letter of credit. That way
you will be able to specify qualifying acceptance criteria and conditions
regarding the parts/shipment and the seller is also protected. It is basically
the original financial payment form of the E-Bay type escrow services.

Subject: [PEDA] OT-China parts

SNIP

I picked one that was U.S.A. language friendly, and emailed a request for
shipping and payment info. They promptly answered back with a friendly letter
and a pro forma invoice, with $25 charge for e-payment and $25 shipping, and a
2 week delivery.

The company, Oways Electronics Co., LTD has no hits on a web search, and I have
requested more info on their business, before proceeding.

My question is have any of you used the HKinventory service for parts, and what
are my chances of getting my parts from a company in China that will have my
money up front?

This is a great thing if the sites are legit , sort of an ebay buyer beware, if
not.

Any experience with this, out there? Any Chinese users familiar with a better
option?

None of the 3 US companies I requested RFQs, have bothered to respond.

Thanks,

Bill Hart
