Defaulting to Letter paper size is definitely a problem. Here in the Europe
we use the "metric" letter size, I'm very happy Protel DXP takes that into
account now and defaults to A4. I checked the latest DXP version for a
global default choice, but I didn't find any. It's still adjustable only in
the printer setup menu. No choice for setting a default. I agree, it would
be a labor saving improvement if it gave the choice. I'm happy with the A4
setting, though, and would complain if they changed it back to Letter. ;-)

Mit freundlichem Gruß

Defaulting to A4 paper size is definitely a problem with at least the early
versions of DXP. I don't
know about 99SE, I skipped that release. The problem is not caused by other
people on the network
changing printing preferences, it is specific to DXP. Here in the US we use
the "imperial" letter
size, but Protel DXP constantly defaults to A4, and if you overlook that,
you keep sending print
jobs to a letter size printer, and it doesn't handle the print job
correctly. Don't know if the
latest DXP version implements a global default choice that fixes that, but
it would be a huge labor
saving improvement if it did.

Kerry Berland
