I am curious about the database file sizes. I have a completed Design that is 47 Megabytes in size.
When I copied this database and stripped out all the files so that all that is left is the *.sch , *.pcb, *.lib and I removed all the components from the *.sch and*.pcb the database file size stays at 47 MB. The Protel designer shows all the files sizes to be only 709KB. When I start a new design from scratch with the same files as above minus the *.lib, the database file size is 192KB and Protel designer shows all the files sizes to be 0KB. I prefer to copy a new design from and older one so that all the settings stay the same. Is there any disadvantage to this besides the huge database file size? Is there any preference that others use? Thanks, Brad. ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
