This is the lock file, that says who has the database open for write 
access.  It is
normally erased when the database is successfully closed.  Of course, 
that isn't
happening here.  This file is not your problem.  I'm leaning toward a 
problem
with the MicroSoft Jet database engine, but that isn't totally clear.

I think this is well worth a try, unless you have more specific 
indications of
a problem elsewhere.  You might also check with microsoft to see if your
Jet database is fully up to date.  You might also try removing these 
lock files,
but I think the problem will reoccur.
