Hi Dennis,
        Yes, you are oh so right. Like most things to do with planes/plane 
connections, it is the weakest point of the whole package. The worst of which 
is that it won't DRC highlight plane disconnects on vias or pads if they are 
disconnected from the plane by other anti-pads or relief pad connections around 
or near them on planes. They just pretend anything connecting to a plane is 
automatically connected. Guaranteed, no if ands or buts about it.

        On the other hand, they highlight as a warning or violation every time 
a split plane boundary touches the board edge or a via (direct connect via and 
it's edge doesn't even touch the split plane boundary) is even close to the 
split plane boundary.

but Yves, don't forget about 'select net', that may help you or you may
