When using the "update PCB" tool in 99SE, the default text size for the component designators and comment in PCB is 60mils height with a 10mil line width. This can be changed easily enough in the PCB defaults which updates the advpcb.dft file in the Protel install directory. It does this correctly, and the advpcb.dft can be edited in notepad as well, however it never applies the new default settings. This seems to be exclusive to the two setting above, everything else seems to work correctly. I can change them afterwards, but cannot get them to load into PCB automatically. I've done a lot of digging and it seems others have come across this as well, but I've never seen a fix posted.
Was this ever solved? What was the fix?
