 Somehow this msg did not come through to me, but my husband, who is also on 
the list, got it. I'd be very interested in seeing your paper. I'm interested 
in the semiotics for communicating pain. Many of the descriptions available are 
so ambiguous as to be useless. I'm sure there must be people working on this. 
(I'll check out the book you mention.) I'm not planning to veer off into that 
direction myself but am curious about what sort of work semioticians are doing 
in this area.
