Jim, List,
No, I hadn't got as far as tackling the actual conjecture yet,
I merely recognized that the concept of "influence" they were
using in their approach to the problem was roughly the same
thing as the logical analogues of partial differentials that
I had been developing in my work on differential logic. But
it takes a while to prepare the ground, and that was another
reason I had for warming up the old logical graph pot, since
the graphs make it far easier to recognize relevant patterns
in the increasingly complex formulas that evolve.
Regards,
Jon

Jon,
It looks like you worked on this (FC, FP) recently but the post originators did
not reply or the Word Press collapsed or both.
"If a family of subsets of a finite set is closed under union, then there is an
element of that belongs to at least half of the sets in the family."
And you are using differential calculus to to approach the problem? I will
keep an eye out. (Must locate ch. 3 of the 1880 too)
BTW-OT Here is my Alpha construction
Family......( (A) (B) )..., A , ....B..... (B)
1) ( [A] )
2) ( x [A] )
3) ( x [ (A) (B) ]
4) (x [ (A) B ]
