I, too, mourn David Gordon. I didn't know him very well and had some theoretical disagreements with him, but he was extremely friendly and helpful when I was interviewed for a job at the New School. I really wasn't ready enough for a job there -- and he told me in the best possible way. His comments also improved my dissertation. I also appreciated David's empirical work and his political work in educating trade unionists. in pen-l solidarity, Jim Devine [EMAIL PROTECTED] Econ.
