I promise I won't self-promote for a long time after this, but I have a piece in the new issue of 21stC (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/21stC/issue-2.1/henwood.htm) on Graciela Chichilnisky's scheme to price environmental assets using financial theory and then trade contracts on them. Chichilnisky is a mathemetician and economist at Columbia who holds a UNESCO chair and whose thinking apparently influences U.S. global warming policy; 21stC (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/21stC) is a very good webzine about research at Columbia.
