I can only say that I have disagreed with Steve Resnick a number of times, and never received the treatment Baiman describes. Steve Resnick has a strong personality. He doesn't put up with shit, as they say. And he is a decent person and dedicated teacher. I can't imagine him having thrown you out of a class (he doesn't have the power to do so in any case) for having "disagreed" with him. Perhaps you did more than disagree with him; it wouldn't surprise me. I wasn't there and I don't know; but I could not let this obvious scurrilous ad-hominen attack go by unchallenged.
