My god, don't they deserve it? Speaking of union outrages, have you seen
Bob Fitch's cover story in this week's Village Voice (available at
<http://www.villagevoice.com/ink/news/15fitch.shtml>) on UNITE's complicity
with Liz Claiborne in screwing garment workers in Brooklyn? The union gets
big cash payments when Liz C. closes a plant. Guess what? UNITE keeps
almost all the money, distributing only crumbs to the workers. That's what
funds the giant overpaid bureaucracy and a big stock portfolio. This is the
same union that has contracts with Chinatown sweatshops where the workers
earn $3/hr. This is some evil shit, Nathan, and they deserve a flaying for
it.
