never say never. They learned their lessons from the "high cold war," but 
they may learn new lessons from the current period or some future period 
that drives them back to something like what they did back then. The ACLU 
and its principles don't exist in a social vacuum. The ACLU and its 
principles are shaped and limited by the societal environment and the 
balance of soci0-economic power, just as we are.
