Rob is making lots of good points. Perhaps the lesson of American success
is that imperialism supersedes secondary issues such as deficit spending
versus balanced budgets. The US economy expanded under Reagan's
Rooseveltian deficit spending, while it expanded just as impressively under
Clinton's Hooverite economics. What is the constant? Keeping the rest of
the world under the heel of American corporations.
