Our current scholarship accounts hold about $50,000. We give out 4 small scholarships each year (about $700, or one quarter's worth of fees). Not too bad for a very small department in an unknown state school in one of the poorest urban areas of the state. The person most responsible for this is Tom Pierce, one of the two "right wing" members of the department (in our department, the "right wing" is liberal Keynesianism). Eric
