Report: Bush Economist Hubbard to Leave

NEW YORK (AP) -- Glenn Hubbard, chairman of the White House's Council of Economic Advisers, will step down this spring to return to his teaching post at Columbia University, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. ...

The Journal said administration officials emphasized they weren't trying to oust Hubbard, as happened with former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, and would have preferred that Hubbard remain.
