Not true, or wholly true, from various accounts I have read. It would be true, however, of Eleanor Marx. See Yvonne Kapp's wonderful biography of Eleanor. Karl was not very friendly to his illegitimate son. Eleanor, meeting Helmut after her father's death, tried to make up for that as best she could. Carrol
