Personally I hope that centrally planned and market socialism are not the only
alternatives. I would like to think there is a third alternative.
Anyway, regarding the central planning alternative, Paul Cockshott and Allin
Cottrell have some interesting thing to say. At the link below you should find
their book as well papers like 'Information and Economics: A Critique of Hayek'
and 'Calculation, Complexity and Planning: The Socialist Calculation Debate Once
Again' in PDF format.

Hello from a lurker,
I have a student who would like to do a directed study on socialist
alternatives to capitalism. She is particularly interested in centrally
planned rather than market socialism systems. I have not kept up on
this literature, so my list is a few years out of date. Any suggestions
anyone can give would be appreciated.
