Poor Doug, that series of episodes must have left you feeling
a little burned. You launch a sincere quest to uncover insights
about a subject that, important though it may be, you know to
be esoteric to the BTN listening audience. So from the get go the
chances of pay off are less than stellar. Then, your first guest
proves to be a disappointment who balks at your efforts to draw
him out on the details. Still, you continue on with a (highly unusual)
follow-up show, devoting another interview to someone who appears
to be a more useful source. Then it turns out that said source may
be a mouthpiece for the financial industry. Damn, that's a thankless
journey.
