yes. And it doesn't involve clicking on ads. I think they must think that user data and data about relationships between users will somehow make a bundle of money. The news Facebook Groups for higher Ed promises to open up a range of IPR issues (w 5 GB of free server space you can share any and every text a student would need for class, several times over. The Georgia State ruling will be a moot point, even if the publishers get what they want. Google has a lot of user data as well, but I think they still make most of their money from the click ads. The same is certainly not true of FB. I have no idea how they intend to make money off of it - but I suppose someone plans to, as the execs are moving into offshore locations to shelter their IPO haul.
