Many left economists including Marxists reckon inequality is not just unfair,
it is the main economic cause of
economic crisis. There is a long line of academic papers supporting this
view.
But it is one thing to recognise that inequality has rocketed in the
last 30 years and quite another to claim that this explains the credit
crunch and the Great Recession.
