This thread confuses me. The function of the World Bank, its reason for existence, is to aid in the preservation of the financial and social relations that are the root of poverty. It matters not who is at its head; it is by its existence a support of continued (and probably increasing) poverty. The only concern leftists should hav with it is to demand its closing down. It is a major institution of The Enemy. It can't be otherwise.
Carrol P.S. Though as some Seattle signs said of WTO one could say of the World Bank: If you think the World Bank is evil, wait until you hear about capitalism.
