OK so you slammed a book that you did not read, yet you went on for paragraphs as if you and declaim that they ignore British colonialism. If you are not going to read whole books, then why not stick to movies that you have actually seen and then forward the reviews by people who take the time to write thoughtful or witty ones? I appreciated the review by Eileen Jones that you recently forwarded. At any rate, it is not believable that you read the other book by Acemoglu and Robinson. For example, by page 10 one reads about British colonialism in South Africa, and you have nothing to say about what they actually do lay out about the material determinants of anti-democratic policies. Except for the railroad swindle your own comments are focused on different fractions of the Argentine ruling classes. I remain bothered that you insist on smearing Marx's name by associating it with the book reviews that you write.
