A lot of Marxists. like Heinrich! But not Sombart Luxury and
Capitalism, Bourdieu in Distinctions,
R.T. Naylor Crass Consumption (haven't read it),  Jack Goody in
Capitalism and Modernism, post-Keynesian Andrew Trigg,
and most importantly the movie "Pirates: A Band of Misfits" in which
the crass consumption of the elite drives the narrative
forward in surprising ways and to the chagrin of Charles Darwin. Yes I
aaw it with my three year old and seven year old.
