Well I feel flattered that Doug would weigh in as a moral teacher! Point is,
generally speaking Americans like to laugh and snipe at other people from a
safe distance, but if it is done to them, they go ballistic, and reach for a
gun to settle the argument. They are generally speaking much too lazy to think
of something profound to say in reply. I have a few American friends who are
not like that, and that is why I like them.
America is about ego-marketing. In fact, Lasch wrote abook about it, “The
culture of narcissism.” Louis ought to read it.
That I write things about Seymour preying on women, is another lie by Mr
Infantile Proyect. I never did. Even Richard Seymour himself (who at least has
a sense of humour) would be able to confirm that. Proyect must be blind,
because he certainly hasn’t read what I wrote.
Funny thing is that in the first contact I had with Louis more than ten years
ago, he said that he was aiming Marxmail at student leftist youngsters because
nobody else was going to take Marxmail very seriously. That is, he was aiming
for the infantile market. Why then he has so much objection to what I wrote, is
difficult to understand. It is more emotionalist, I guess. The substantive
argument has already disappeared from view.
