Also, what significance, if any, does the opinion of u.s. leftists on the
Ukraine have? It seems to me that arguing the point is merely a flight from
the desperate straits of the u.s. working class -- and the inability of
radicals to move even fractions of that class to action. There's a
dream-like quality to heavy debates on matters on which the debaters cannot
have any impact.   It's like debating whether the Athenians used the right
policies in their reactions to Alexander's Macedonia.
