That's because you are a

denouncing "traitors" and "reformists". Your
first post to Marxmail was to
accuse someone who had just been buried of
being a propagandist for fascism.
This was a disgusting provocation and
a sure sign of your intention to be a
sectarian troll. How would anybody
have any idea of what you accused Gerry
Foley of was true or not? You
didn't even provide any documentation except to
allude to some obscure
Eastern European rightwing groups that he supposedly
aided and abetted.
This is not serious participation and only one step above
scrawling on
the walls of a bathroom in a service station.

I knew Gerry
Foley and might have had some interest in answering your
slander but I was too
busy with other matters. Your trouble is that you
want to be taken seriously
but you are too deep into your fake-Coyoacan
posturing to understand how
aberrant you are. It is like trying to
explain to a mental patient that he
isn't Jesus Christ.

I'm not so aberrant on the question of Tsipras's betrayal, am I? In fact, I
daresay more marxmail subscribers agree with me on this question than with your
ever more lame apologias for the Syriza government. Two regular subscribers to
marxmail unsubbed as a result of your action, and about a half dozen others
protested. Could it be that you threw me off because the position I had taken
on Greece all along was vindicated by events, and more of your subscribers were
coming to see that?

One would also get the impression from you that I'm still a Spartacist or only
quit yesterday, instead of nearly 30 years ago (on distinctly unfriendly
terms). I never presented myself as a spokesman for Spartacist politics on
marxmail. My past affiliation was something you dug up from a short bio that
appeared in the Weekly Worker (which I now write in). You never stopped yelling
"Spart" and "sectarian" in reply to my arguments (in lieu of attempting to
answer them with ones of your own) ever since. For record: I was not a member of
any far-left group, or groups, for 30 years. I was in the Spartacist League for
5 years (1981-1986) and in the Bolshevik Tendency for ten (1987-1997).
Altogether, that adds up to 15 years, by my arithmetic.

One would also get the impression that my post about Gerry Foley was sent a
few weeks ago, instead of in 2012. Had your combing through the marxmail
archives to discredit me after the fact been a little less selective, you may
have discovered that I did, in fact, document my claims concerning Foley with a
citiation from an article in International Viewpoint under his editorship,
which argued that the Forest Brothers were a legitimate anti-Stalinist national
liberation movement. FYI, the Forest Brothers were not an "obscure group". They
were an armed Estonian anti-Soviet "resistance" group during WWII, that
"resisted" by fighting with the Waffen SS and assisting in the roundup of Jews.
Their endorsement by IV was so embarrassing that Ernest Mandel had to disown it
in what was effectively his last will and testament. Nor was Foley's embrace of
this group an aberration. It was consistent with his politics of support for
Eastern European reactionaries as bona fide "anti-Stalinists". I wrote in my
posts that his dedication was admirable. His political role, at least in this
important respect, was not a positive one, IMO. You, on the other hand, are in
apparent agreement with Foley in your view that fascistic types have a role to
play in the "broad non-sectarian" movement you envisage.

Lets face it Louis, you threw me off marxmail because you don't like my
politics, which you are apparently less willing to tolerate than the
blood-curdling anti-Semitism of Gilad Atzmon and Israel Shamir, or the white
supremacism and sympathy for the "lost cause" of the Confederacy of Paul Craig
Roberts. Too bad I don't have a widely read outlet for your movie reviews to
offer you. Maybe then my politics would become a little less objectionable.
