Just a note to clear up some confusion. Marv writes: At the most basic level, I
would like to know why Carrol and Jan, who were active in the LRS which
strongly influenced the Jackson campaign, were unable despite their best
efforts to disabuse a single LRS member - not one member! - of their
“illusionary” and “idiotic” hopes of pushing the DP to the left? And, in light
of this, why continue to insistently sell an evidently failed strategy then as
a winning one today?

-------

I must not have been clear. At the time we agreed with the LRS strategy, so we
didn't try to disabuse anyone of it. What we failed to do was attract anyone
to the LRS. There simply wasn't any discussion of politics among those who
joined us in the Jackson Campaign. I am predicting that the same thing will
happen in the Sanders campaign: no one in it will be recruited to any left
organization, but some leftists from those organizations will exhaust
themselves in the effort and quit.

Later on Marv's substantive points.

Carrol
