Perhaps, but isn't it too soon to extrapolate? Also, the second part of
his point (and the important reason *I* forwarded the message) is the
impact of human populations on other species. Even with decreasing human
populations (in fact consuming at a higher rate) environmental
degradation and species loss is bound to increase unless we (humans)
change our attitudes (both towards "growth" and "technology", as he IMHO
correctly points out).
