I don't know if this split is "once-in-a-lifetime." I remember
previous divisions, but cannot detail them at this point..
Now is the good time to press the issue. Why? The disaster of the
Iraq War. The Israeli power elite and the Israel lobby were among the
few major institutions that really looted for the war, and it is no
secret that Washington had the interests of the Israeli power elite --
especially the right wing of them -- in mind when it launched the war
despite the lack of multinational ruling class consensus for it. Now
people are tired of the war, more than ever before, and saner members
of the power elite are no doubt asking the question: why do we have to
pay for the supposed benefits of Israel? How high will the costs be?
For how long? What's in it for us?
