Lots of crimes involve conspiracy. But the question is if they matter politically at all. The murder of JFK doesn't matter at all.
RFK, as Attorney General, was directed to go after the mob/union connection. Not to mention the fact that the mob and the Cuban 'gusanos' blamed JFK for causing the shutdown of the mob's carribbean whorehouse in the former, and generally losing Cuba to Castro (at the Bay of Pigs due to JFK's refusal to supply more air and naval support) in the latter. I can just see those old boys sitting around the table. "Ya see, Joey boy was a real straight dealer, runnin' whiskey like the rest of us, a good ol' boy... but lookatitnow! That young punk Robert is going after Jimmy (Hoffa), and Johnny-boy lost the whole fuckin' island of Cuba for us... we need to do some-ting" I always found great amusement in the simple and overlooked fact that Nixon's "plumbers" WERE essentially the CIA-Cuban Mob connection. Even if it WASN'T E. Howard Hunt on the grassy knoll with the open/shut umbrella.... the connection remains. It just too obvious, and most people overlook the obvious for something more intellectually stimulating. Leigh http://leighm.net/
