Hello:
I have been compiling a register of physicians who have been victimised for
defending patient rights &/or critiques of care etc. I am pretty well aware of
some good and some high profile cases in Canada - & to a lesser degree in the
UK. I have been asked to write a more general article on this with more
international names - covering issues as above & of crimps on academic
freedoms. I would prefer to use names that have been already alerted to the
wider press, since I thereby would not potentially make any individual lives
further troubled. However such devices as 'physician A' etc - would work -
providing these are true and verifiable.
If anyone has knowledge of cases they think an article like this should cover,
I would be very grateful indeed if they would pass such onto me, preferably
with pertinent dates etc. I would be very happy to discuss in more detail with
individuals if they feel it needed.
