I got several things, but that line shows a pretty shocking ignorance
of how US power works. Look, I'm glad Hezbollah kicked Israel out of
Lebanon, but I'm not prepared to go any further than that in saying
kind words about them. Be my guest if you like, but remember that
Khomeini was once celebrated by the Western left as an anti-imperialist.

Do you have any friends here or in the Middle East other than liberal
cosmopolitan sorts? How do you relate to Arabs and Iranians -- mostly
those who are poorer than liberal cosmopolitans -- who think of Hasan
Nasrallah and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as godsends? You're gonna have
nothing at all with them?
