Since I absolutely loathe the topic of EARwigs as being so recently discussed ad nauseum, I applaud Michael's move.
OK, so this is I am very certain is something all of you - as the best of Liberal Marxists (West or East; Man or Woman) - have pondered hard. (1) Yoshie says: "And Cuba probably has the best record on civil liberties among formerly and still actually existing socialist societies. Socialism has not had a good record on civil liberties (to put it very mildly!), and those who long for civil liberties today are unlikely to dream of living under the dictatorship of the proletariat." (2) So let us now assume we have a socialist state, - there are none to my point of view. If you accept that capitalism surrounds this state, and tries to destory it either by invasion or whatever internal subterfuge it launches: How do you all propose it would be defended? Hari Kumar
