Anyway, "postmodernists" is more specific than "Western leftists."
It's a generally self-defined group of people. Their ideas are defined
relative to other trends on the left. If we stop talking about pomos,
we stop talking about _any_ schools of thought.

Strictly speaking, the only "pomos" I've read at any length have been
Resnick & Wolff and their followers. (That's because they write
significantly better than the other ones.) So maybe we should talk
about their school rather than the broader abstraction.

But there's nothing wrong with abstractions _per se_ as long as they
can be linked to concrete (specific) cases in some way.  One of the
problems with the way that the term "Western leftists" was being used
was that there were no specific cases.
