Indeed. "Special interests" include labor unions, women, blacks, immigrants (legal and illegal), single mothers, latinos/as, pregnant women, gays, the disabled, social-security recipients, the ill, infants. That's a brief list. The General Interest includes corporations, major stock-holders in corporations, mortgage-holders, patent-holders, the military (rank of major and above), CEOs, CFOs, the Mayors of Chicago & NYC, University Presidents, Football & basketball coaches at universities, publishers of NYTimes, WSJ, and WP.
