Of course, it the left wants to change public opinion, we should become investment bankers and convince the public that the war is bad for shareholders. Or we could start a vanguard party and demand that others follow us.
Of course, it is silly to imagine strategies that could change the shape of political life. It is a matter of us getting involved, doing what we do best. Getting others close to us involved. And then some of us just might hit on something. Did Cindy Sheehan strategize about how she could shape public opinion? I doubt it, at least in the beginning. My guess is that her outrage fueled her. People responded to her authenticity.
